Yellow Jacket Manifold & Hoses HP 42044

The Yellow Jacket 42044 is a high pressure manifold with hoses for refrigeration and air conditioning service.

High pressure rated manifolds exist because successive refrigerant generations have operated at progressively higher pressures, and equipment adequate for one generation is not necessarily adequate for the next.

The specifications that must suit the refrigerant are the gauge scale ranges, the working pressure ratings of the manifold body and its valves, and the hose ratings.

Gauge scale is the most immediately apparent. A high side gauge reading to a maximum below the system's normal operating pressure provides no information at all, and a gauge driven beyond its scale is damaged.

Pressure rating is the safety consideration. A manifold or hose operating near its working pressure limit in normal service has no margin for the abnormal conditions that occur during diagnosis, and a failure releases refrigerant rapidly at pressure.

Using correctly rated equipment is therefore not a refinement. Technicians working across multiple refrigerant types generally maintain separate sets rather than attempting to cover everything with one.

Applications include air conditioning, heat pump, and refrigeration service on high pressure refrigerant systems.
