Yellow Jacket Manifold & Hoses 2V 49867

The Yellow Jacket 49867 is a two valve manifold with hoses for refrigeration and air conditioning service.

Analogue and digital manifolds each retain a place, and the comparison is worth making since digital sets are increasingly common.

Digital manifolds display pressure numerically, calculate saturation temperature for a selected refrigerant automatically, and with connected temperature clamps compute superheat and subcooling directly. They log readings, and many transmit to an application for record keeping.

The calculation capability is the substantive advantage. Superheat and subcooling are the measurements that actually diagnose a system, and computing them manually from pressures, a pressure-temperature chart, and line temperatures introduces both delay and arithmetic error.

Analogue manifolds require no batteries, tolerate rough handling and temperature extremes, show trends and fluctuations at a glance in a way a digital display does not, and cost considerably less.

Many technicians carry both, using the digital set for charging and detailed diagnosis and the analogue set for quick checks and rough conditions.

Applications include refrigeration and air conditioning diagnosis, charging, and service.
