Yellow Jacket Charging Hose Set 5 22985

The Yellow Jacket 22985 is a 5 foot charging hose set in blue, red, and yellow.

A matched set at the standard field service length represents the core of a refrigeration technician's gauge equipment, and treating it as a precision instrument rather than a consumable improves both the work and its longevity.

The reasoning is that every diagnostic conclusion drawn from a system rests on what the gauges read, and what the gauges read depends on the hoses being sound. A leaking gasket makes a vacuum impossible to hold and sends a technician searching for a system leak that does not exist. A seized depressor makes a charged system read empty. A restricted fitting makes the gauge respond slowly to changes that are actually rapid.

Each of these has cost technicians hours of misdirected diagnosis, and each is prevented by inspection that takes moments.

Keeping hoses capped and stored properly, checking gaskets and fittings before use, replacing hoses on a sensible interval rather than at failure, and verifying the manifold holds a vacuum on its own when a system will not, together eliminate most service equipment problems.

Applications include refrigeration and air conditioning service, charging, evacuation, recovery, and diagnosis.
