Yellow Jacket Yel 3 PLUS2 Hose 21036

The Yellow Jacket 21036 is a 3 foot yellow PLUS II charging hose.

The colour convention in refrigeration service is consistent and worth stating: blue denotes the low side or suction connection, red the high side or discharge, and yellow the centre or utility hose used for charging, recovery, evacuation, and nitrogen.

The convention exists to prevent connection errors under working conditions where the ports may be in awkward positions and the consequences of connecting to the wrong side are significant.

A three foot hose is the shortest common length. Its advantages are the smallest internal volume, and therefore the least refrigerant lost or recovered per connection, and the least restriction during evacuation. Its limitation is reach, which makes it suited to bench work, to equipment where the ports are readily accessible, and to situations where the manifold can sit close to the system.

Yellow hoses see the most varied service of the three, being connected to recovery machines, vacuum pumps, refrigerant cylinders, and nitrogen regulators, which makes their condition worth particular attention.

Applications include refrigeration and air conditioning charging, recovery, and evacuation.
