ProCharge Charging Hose With Gauge 4507

The ProCharge 4507 is a charging hose with an integral gauge, for refrigerant service work.

A hose with a built-in gauge allows pressure to be read at the point of connection without a full manifold set. For simple tasks, checking a static pressure, confirming a system holds a charge, or adding refrigerant to a system where only one connection is needed, this is quicker to deploy than a manifold.

The limitation is that a single gauge reads one pressure. Meaningful diagnosis of a refrigeration system requires both high and low side pressures observed together, along with temperatures, and no single reading substitutes for that.

For that reason a gauge hose is a supplementary tool rather than a replacement for a manifold set.

The general requirements applying to any refrigerant hose apply here: the working and burst pressure ratings must suit the refrigerant, the hose must be compatible with the system's oil, and the end fittings must match the service ports.

The connection at the gauge is an additional potential leak point relative to a plain hose, and should be checked when the hose is inspected.
