The Yellow Jacket 21072 is a 6 foot yellow PLUS II charging hose.

Six foot hoses provide the reach needed for equipment where the service ports are distant from where the technician can comfortably stand: rooftop units, equipment in confined mechanical spaces, split systems with awkwardly located valves, and commercial racks.

The trade-offs of the longer length apply in full: greater internal volume, so more refrigerant retained per connection, and greater restriction during evacuation.

For evacuation specifically, the sensible practice is to use short, large diameter hoses regardless of what is used for charging. Many technicians carry a separate short 3/8 inch hose set for evacuation and use their standard hoses only for charging and diagnosis, which resolves the conflict between reach and evacuation performance.

A further consideration with longer hoses is handling. Six feet of hose on each of three connections is a considerable length to manage on a roof or in a confined space, and hoses draped across a running condenser or resting on hot discharge lines will be damaged.
