Yellow Jacket Charging Hose 6 Yell 22072

The Yellow Jacket 22072 is a 6 foot yellow charging hose for refrigeration and air conditioning service.

Charging by weight is the most accurate method available and is worth using wherever the correct charge quantity is known.

The equipment nameplate states the factory charge for a packaged system, and for a split system it states the base charge along with an allowance per unit length of line set beyond a stated length. Calculating the correct total and weighing it in with a scale gives a charge that is correct by construction rather than inferred from measurements.

This matters most on systems where measurement based charging is difficult: systems with a receiver, where subcooling is not a reliable indicator; systems operating in mild conditions where readings are unrepresentative; and blended refrigerants where any loss requires the full charge to be recovered and replaced rather than topped up.

Where a system has been evacuated for a repair, weighing in the full charge is straightforward and removes the guesswork.

Where a system is merely low and the leak has been repaired, recovering the remaining charge and weighing in a full charge is more reliable than adding until readings look correct.

Applications include refrigeration and air conditioning charging and service.
