The Yellow Jacket 22260 is a 5 foot blue charging hose for low side service.

Recovery is a procedure the low side hose participates in, and one governed by regulation as well as good practice.

Refrigerant must be recovered rather than vented before a system is opened, and recovery equipment is connected to draw refrigerant from the system into a recovery cylinder.

Recovery is faster from both sides of the system than from one, and liquid recovery is faster than vapour recovery, which is why recovery procedures generally begin with liquid and finish with vapour.

The recovery cylinder must be rated for the refrigerant, must not be filled beyond its safe capacity, and must not contain a different refrigerant, since mixed refrigerants cannot be reclaimed and become a disposal problem.

Recovery to the required vacuum level, as specified by regulation for the equipment size and refrigerant type, is the endpoint rather than simply until the gauge reads zero.
