Yellow Jacket Charging Hose 3 Set 22983

The Yellow Jacket 22983 is a 3 foot charging hose set in blue, red, and yellow.

A complete set at the shortest common length is frequently kept as a dedicated evacuation set, or for shop and bench work.

The case for a dedicated evacuation set is worth making. Evacuation performance depends heavily on hose diameter and length, and the hoses that are convenient for field charging are frequently poor for evacuation. Keeping a separate short, large diameter set, used only for evacuation, removes the compromise.

Such a set also stays cleaner, since it is not connected to recovery machines, refrigerant cylinders, and multiple systems in the way that general service hoses are.

Where a dedicated set is not practical, the alternative is to accept longer evacuation times and to verify the result properly with a micron gauge at the system rather than assuming a vacuum has been achieved.

Either way, the verification matters more than the equipment: an isolation test confirming the vacuum holds is what proves the system is dry and tight.

Applications include refrigeration and air conditioning evacuation, charging, recovery, and service.
