Venti Coated Gas Connector - 36IN SC5-36MM44

The Venti SC5-36MM44 is a 36 inch coated flexible gas connector supplied for gas appliance connection.

Where a gas connector is routed determines how long it lasts, and the position it occupies is usually behind an appliance where nobody will look at it again for years.

Several conditions shorten its life. Contact with sharp sheet metal edges at the back of an appliance abrades the coating and eventually the tube. Proximity to a hot flue or an uninsulated exhaust component heats it. Standing in a location where spills collect keeps it wet. Being crushed between the appliance and the wall when the unit is pushed back stresses it at a single point.

Each of these is avoided by taking a moment when the appliance is repositioned, rather than by any special measure. Routing the connector clear of edges and heat, confirming the loop has a generous radius, and pushing the appliance back slowly while watching the connector addresses nearly all of it.

The connector should be inspected whenever the appliance is pulled out for any reason. Damage to the coating, kinking, flattening, or corrosion are all grounds for replacement, and replacement is inexpensive.

Confirm length, connection sizes, and capacity rating against the appliance input. Never reuse a connector, keep it accessible and unconcealed, and leak test every joint with soap solution or an approved detector.
