RGF Replacement Lamp YR UV BQR+141Y

The RGF BQR+141Y is a one year replacement UV lamp for compatible RGF ultraviolet air purification systems.

Scheduled lamp replacement is what keeps a UV installation effective, and the reason it is so often missed is that a spent lamp looks identical to a new one in operation. UV-C output falls progressively as the lamp ages, while visible illumination continues essentially unchanged. A system with a three year old lamp in an annual replacement housing will still glow through the sight port and will still appear, to anyone inspecting it, to be working normally. In practice its germicidal contribution may be negligible.

Replacement is therefore governed by elapsed time rather than observation. A one year lamp suits annual replacement at a routine maintenance visit, which is the easiest interval to sustain because it coincides with work already scheduled.

Lamps are specific to the system they serve. Length, base type, electrical characteristics, and mounting arrangement are matched to the housing, so the replacement must correspond to the installed unit rather than to the manufacturer's range in general.

De-energise the system before servicing. Handle the glass envelope with a cloth or gloves, since skin oils create localised hot spots that shorten lamp life. Never view an energised UV-C lamp directly, and note the installation date on the housing.

Applications include residential and light commercial air handler, furnace, and duct mounted UV installations.
