The DiversiTech TUV-MINI-LED-SW is an LED based UV air purification system designed for ductless mini split indoor units.

Mini split indoor units present a well documented cleanliness problem. The blower wheel, coil, and drain pan sit in a compact housing that is difficult to access, the coil runs wet through the cooling season, and the units are frequently installed in locations where routine deep cleaning is neglected. The result is biological growth on the wheel and coil that produces the characteristic odour associated with older mini splits, along with reduced airflow and heat transfer.

A purification system sized for the mini split cabinet addresses the source rather than masking the symptom, treating the coil and blower surfaces where growth establishes.

LED based emitters differ from conventional UV lamps in several respects that matter in this application. They are compact enough to fit the confined space inside a mini split head, they are solid state and tolerate the vibration and handling of that environment, and their output degrades more gradually than a fluorescent style lamp.

Applications include residential and light commercial ductless mini split systems in homes, offices, hotel rooms, and retail spaces, both as a remedy for existing odour complaints and as preventive treatment on new installations.
