DiversiTech Replacement Lamp 1-Yr TUVL-115

The DiversiTech TUVL-115 is a one year replacement UV lamp for compatible DiversiTech germicidal air purification systems.

Lamp replacement is the recurring service requirement of any UV air treatment installation, and the reason it is commonly neglected is that the failure mode is invisible. A UV-C lamp continues to emit visible light long after its germicidal output has fallen below useful levels, because the phosphor and electrode degradation that reduces UV-C output does not extinguish the visible glow. A homeowner or technician who sees the lamp lit reasonably concludes the system is working, when in practice it may have been ineffective for a year or more.

For that reason, replacement should be scheduled by date rather than by observation. A one year lamp is specified for annual replacement, which aligns conveniently with a routine maintenance visit and makes the interval easy to track.

Lamps are specific to the system they serve. Length, base configuration, electrical characteristics, and mounting arrangement are matched to the housing, so the replacement must correspond to the installed unit rather than to UV lamps generally.

De-energise the system before servicing, avoid touching the glass envelope with bare fingers since skin oils create hot spots that shorten lamp life, and never view an energised UV-C lamp directly.

Applications include residential and light commercial air handler, furnace, and fan coil UV installations. Record the installation date at replacement.
