Moldex MOX6800 Earplug Pura-Fit Disposable Uncorded One Size Tapered Soft Foam

The Moldex MOX6800 is a Pura-Fit disposable earplug, one size, tapered, uncorded, bright green, soft foam, 33 dB noise reduction rating, PVC free, ANSI S3.19-1974, 200 pair per box.

Bright green is the specification worth pulling out, and it is doing supervision work rather than styling.

A hearing conservation programme depends on plugs actually being in ears, and verifying that is genuinely difficult — an earplug is small, it is in a canal, and it is under a hard hat and ear defenders half the time. A supervisor walking a plant floor cannot check. A bright, high-contrast plug is visible at a glance from across a workspace, which means compliance can be observed rather than assumed.

That sounds like surveillance and it is closer to the opposite: the workers most at risk are the ones nobody notices going without.

The 33 dB rating is the top of the foam plug range. The caveat belongs on every hearing protector: laboratory NRR figures overstate real-world performance substantially, and regulators generally expect derating for actual use. A plug worn badly protects far less than its number.

Foam plugs must be rolled down thin, inserted, and held while they expand. Insertion technique matters more than the rating on the box.

The tapered shape suits the widest range of canals.

Applications include manufacturing, construction, and high-noise work.
