Honeywell Howard Leight SPAMAX-1-D Sperian Howard Leight Max Lite Ear Plug

The Honeywell Howard Leight SPAMAX-1-D is a dispenser refill, 500 pairs per box and 4 boxes per case.

Note a naming problem: the source calls this a Max Lite earplug. The part number MAX-1-D is the dispenser refill for MAX-1, which this range lists as the Max — a different plug from the Max Lite. Max is rated NRR 33; Max Lite is the low-pressure foam rated NRR 30. Those are two products and this listing has merged them.

Note also that no NRR is stated at all.

Both need resolving before publishing. A facility documenting a hearing conservation programme records the plug and its rating, and a mislabelled plug in the record is a compliance problem as well as a purchasing one.

The dispenser refill format is worth understanding on its own. Refills are dispenser-specific — a refill for one manufacturer's unit does not fit another's, and frequently not another model from the same maker. An order for refills has to name the dispenser, and mounting a dispenser commits a facility to its refill supply.

At 2,000 pair per case this is a busy entrance.

The dispenser exists because hearing protection is defeated by friction. Noise-induced loss is cumulative, permanent, and painless — nothing prompts anyone. Plugs get worn only if getting a pair takes no effort.
