Product Highlights
Description
The Honeywell Howard Leight SPALPF-30 is a Max Lite low-pressure single-use foam earplug with polycord in an individual polybag, 100 per box and 1,000 per case.
Note a gap: no NRR is stated. The uncorded Max Lite in this range is rated 30, and a cord does not change attenuation — but the number should be on the listing rather than inferred, because it is the specification a buyer chooses on and the one a hearing conservation programme is documented against. Obtain it.
Low pressure is the product and it is a deliberate trade. A foam plug seals by expanding against the canal wall, and that expansion force is what makes ears ache by mid-afternoon. An aching ear means a plug that comes out — and no rating protects an ear that is not wearing the plug.
A low-pressure foam expands with less force while still sealing. Across this range it costs about 3 dB of laboratory rating against the standard Max, and it buys a plug that is still in at four o'clock.
That is almost always the better deal.
The polycord keeps the pair around the neck between exposures rather than in a pocket, which is a hygiene matter. It is also a snag hazard near rotating machinery — the uncorded version exists for that.
Individual polybags mean the plug is clean when it goes in.
