The Gardner Bender GBE46-415UVB is a heavy duty cable tie, 15 inch long, 120 lb tensile strength, in UV black Nylon 6/6, 0.25 inch wide, 4 inch maximum bundle diameter. Supplied 50 per pack with 10 packs per case.

This is the outdoor specification of the 15 inch, 120 lb tie, and the UV stabilisation is what makes it one. Untreated nylon breaks down under ultraviolet light — the polymer chains fracture, the tie embrittles, and it eventually snaps. Carbon black pigment absorbs that UV energy before it reaches the polymer, which is why outdoor ties are black. The colour is the protection.

The failure mode deserves emphasis because it is deceptive. A sun-degraded natural tie looks fine. It holds until something touches it, and then it shatters. On a rooftop conduit run or a tower feed line, that discovery happens at the worst possible time.

Nylon 6/6 is the standard cable tie polymer, chosen for tensile strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance.

Note the relationship between the 15 inch length and the 4 inch bundle capacity — the strap is long, but the usable loop is modest. Length and bundle diameter are different specifications and are frequently confused at ordering.

The 120 lb tensile rating covers general heavy duty bundling.
