DiversiTech Switch 25-40 Amp 3-4 Pole AC3 AUX

The DiversiTech AC3 auxiliary switch attaches to a contactor to provide additional isolated switching contacts, rated for use with 25 to 40 amp, 3 and 4 pole contactors. It gives technicians a way to add a signal or control function to an existing contactor without replacing the contactor itself or adding a separate relay and enclosure.

An auxiliary switch mechanically follows the main contactor armature. When the contactor pulls in to energize the compressor or condenser fan, the auxiliary contacts change state simultaneously, providing a clean confirmation that the load has actually been commanded on. That signal is commonly used to drive an indicator lamp, feed a status input on a building management system, energize a crankcase heater circuit, interlock an accessory such as an economizer or damper motor, or lock out a second stage.

Because the auxiliary contacts are electrically isolated from the power poles, low voltage control circuits can be switched safely alongside line voltage loads. This is the practical advantage over tapping the load side of the contactor, which would expose control wiring to line potential.

The switch mounts directly to compatible contactor bodies, keeping the assembly compact enough to fit inside the electrical compartment of a condensing unit, air handler, or rooftop package unit. Applications span residential and light commercial air conditioning, heat pumps, refrigeration racks, and general motor control panels. Confirm the mounting pattern and contact rating against the specific contactor and control circuit before installation, and de-energize the equipment before working inside the panel.
