The Venti 4D02VK is a 2 inch concentric vent kit for direct vent condensing appliances, providing combined combustion air intake and flue exhaust through a single penetration.

Sealed combustion appliances draw combustion air from outdoors rather than from the equipment room, which is what allows them to be installed in confined spaces, closets, and tightly constructed buildings without dedicated combustion air openings. The trade-off is that two pipes must reach outdoors, and a concentric kit reduces that to one penetration and one termination assembly.

The single termination also removes a recurring installation problem. Where intake and exhaust terminate separately, their relative position must satisfy separation requirements, and a termination pair placed too close together, or arranged so the prevailing wind carries exhaust toward the intake, allows flue products to be drawn back into the combustion air. The result is degraded combustion, elevated carbon monoxide in the flue, and intermittent lockouts that resist diagnosis because they occur only under particular wind conditions. A concentric assembly fixes that geometry at manufacture.

The 2 inch size suits smaller condensing appliances operating within the manufacturer's permitted equivalent vent length, which is determined by the appliance vent tables rather than by the outlet size.
