Simple Green SGN13008 Cleaner and Degreaser Original Formula Biodegradable

The Simple Green SGN13008 is Original Formula cleaner and degreaser, biodegradable, 55 gal drum, water base, VOC content 4.72 g/L, pH 8.5 to 9.2, butyl free, phosphate free, non-flammable, no Prop 65 listing.

A 55 gallon drum is an infrastructure decision rather than a purchase, and it is worth being straight about what it commits a facility to.

A drum needs a pump, it needs somewhere to live, and it needs a dilution system — because 55 gallons of concentrate decanted by hand into whatever containers are available produces exactly the chaos that bulk buying was supposed to avoid. The economics only work if the plumbing does.

What makes a drum tractable here is the hazard profile: non-flammable, water based, not a DOT hazardous substance in the Original formula's classification, and no Prop 65 listing. A drum of solvent degreaser needs segregated storage, bunding, ventilation, and fire provisions. A drum of this needs a corner and a pump. That difference is worth more than the price per gallon.

The pH of 8.5 to 9.2 is mildly alkaline — surface-safe across a broad range where a caustic degreaser is not.

Note Simple Green's guidance regarding prolonged contact with aluminium and soft metals; a separate formula exists for precision and aircraft work.

Follow the dilution guidance and SDS.

Applications include fleet, plant, and industrial cleaning at volume.
