The Robertshaw A12-701 is a cut-in control with single pole single throw switch action for refrigeration applications.

A recurring service situation with cold controls is a cabinet that will not hold temperature, and the control is frequently blamed before it is tested.

The test is straightforward. Measure the actual temperature at the sensing bulb and observe at what temperature the control cycles. A control that opens and closes at the temperatures its settings indicate is working correctly, and the fault lies elsewhere: refrigeration capacity, door seals, defrost, airflow, or loading.
