LG Wired Remote Controller PREMTA201

The LG PREMTA201 is a wired remote controller for LG air conditioning systems.

Remote controllers in ducted and cassette installations serve a function that a handheld infrared remote does not: they provide a fixed, permanent interface at a known location, with a temperature sensor that can be used as the control point.

Where the controller senses temperature, its location becomes a design decision rather than a convenience. It should be mounted where it represents the conditioned space: at normal occupied height, away from direct sunlight, away from supply air discharge, away from heat producing equipment, and not on an exterior wall. A controller mounted where it senses unrepresentative conditions will control the space to the wrong temperature regardless of how accurate it is.

Wired controllers also provide access to fault codes and, on many systems, to service parameters, which makes them a diagnostic tool as much as a user interface.

Compatibility is specific to the manufacturer and frequently to the equipment generation, so the controller must be verified against the installed units.

Isolate power before wiring, observe polarity on the communication link, and follow the manufacturer's cable specification and length limits.
