Slip Plate is a dry graphite coating and the reason it exists is a problem that oil makes worse.

Material sticks to steel. Grain in a chute, soil on a plough share, sand in a hopper, concrete on a truck body — all of it adheres, builds up, and eventually stops the equipment working. The instinct is to grease the surface. That is exactly wrong: grease is tacky, it holds the material rather than releasing it, and it attracts more.

A graphite coating is dry. It bonds to the steel and leaves a slick, non-tacky surface that material slides off and does not stick to. There is nothing for dust to adhere to, because there is no oil.

The classic applications explain the product: agricultural implements, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, truck beds, snow plough blades, and any surface where material has to move rather than accumulate.

Graphite also inhibits corrosion on the coated surface, which is a real secondary benefit on equipment stored outdoors between seasons.

Surface preparation determines adhesion. Clean, dry, rust-free steel.
