The PIP PIN41-1430/L is a POWERGRAB THERMO W glove with a 10 gauge acrylic inner liner, black 13 gauge outer liner, and black latex microfinish grip, large, 6 dozen per case.

The two-layer construction is the specification and it is genuinely clever engineering rather than just more material.

A single-layer insulated glove has a problem: the insulation and the shell are the same thing, so making it warmer makes it thicker and clumsier. A two-layer glove separates the jobs. The 10 gauge acrylic inner liner is the insulation — a coarse, lofty knit that traps air. The 13 gauge outer liner is the working shell — a finer knit that carries the coating and takes the abrasion.

The gauge numbers tell the story: lower gauge means heavier yarn and more loft, higher gauge means a finer knit. Putting the coarse layer inside and the fine layer outside gets warmth without giving up the glove's working surface.

Latex microfinish is the grip coating, and latex is the specification to flag: latex grips exceptionally well and it is degraded by oil, and it causes allergic reactions in sensitised wearers. For cold, wet, non-oily work it is the right coating. For an engine bay it is not.
