MCR Safety MCR903L Mechanics Gloves Leather Black Premium Large Unlined Elastic

The MCR Safety MCR903L is a pair of mechanics gloves, leather, large, black, adjustable closure, unlined, elastic cuff, premium grade, grain cut, goatskin.

Goatskin is the specification and it is the best leather in this range for a reason worth knowing. Goat hide has a high natural lanolin content, which keeps it supple, and its fibre structure gives it exceptional abrasion resistance for its thickness. That combination — thin, soft, and tough — is exactly what a mechanic's glove needs.

The comparison makes the point. Cowhide is thicker and tougher and clumsier. Pigskin breathes well and stiffens as it dries. Goatskin stays soft, wears well, and lets the hand feel the work.

Grain cut is the other half of it. Grain leather is the outer surface of the hide, with its natural structure intact — it is smoother, stronger, and more abrasion resistant than split leather, which comes from the underlayer. Split is cheaper and fuzzier and it does not last.

Unlined follows the same logic. Lining adds bulk and shifts on the hand; unlined leather moves with it.

The adjustable closure and elastic cuff seal the wrist, which stops debris entering and stops the glove coming off in a grip.

Applications include mechanical work, assembly, maintenance, and material handling.
