The MCR Safety MCR6016BM is a pair of NitriShield disposable gloves, medium, nitrile, powder free, 6 mil, industrial grade, black, non-sterile, FDA approved, 9-1/2 inch length, 1000 per case.

Nitrile rather than latex is the specification and there are two independent reasons for it.

The first is allergy. Natural rubber latex causes genuine and occasionally severe allergic reactions, and the reaction is not limited to the wearer — latex protein carried on glove powder becomes airborne and affects others in the space. That is why healthcare largely abandoned latex, and why industry followed.

The second is chemical performance. Nitrile resists oils, fuels, and many solvents that degrade latex on contact. For anyone handling hydrocarbons, that is not a preference.

Powder free follows from the first point. Powder was a donning aid and it carried protein and contamination into the air and onto the work.

At 6 mil this is a substantial disposable glove — thicker than the examination-grade gloves at 3 to 4 mil, which is what industrial grade means here. Thickness buys durability and costs tactile sensitivity.

Black is conventional for industrial work: it hides grease, and it makes a torn glove visible against a pale hand.

The 9-1/2 inch length is standard, covering to the wrist.

Note: disposable means disposable. A reused disposable glove is contaminated on both sides.
