Nidec/Emerson Blower Motor 3/4 HP 1075 RPM 208-230

The Nidec/Emerson EL3590 is a 3/4 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 208-230 volt PSC blower motor for direct-drive indoor blower service in air handlers, furnaces, and fan coil units.

The dual-voltage 208-230 rating allows the motor to serve both commercial 208 volt supplies and residential 230 volt supplies. On a 208 volt system the motor draws higher current for the same output, so measured amps should be compared against nameplate after commissioning; a reading above nameplate on 208 volts usually indicates the blower is being asked for more airflow than the tap selection assumed.

As a PSC design, the motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value. When replacing a motor, test the existing capacitor rather than reusing it on assumption. Capacitance loss is gradual, and a capacitor that measures below tolerance will subject the new motor to the same conditions that failed the old one.

Speed taps allow separate heating and cooling airflow selection, with unused leads capped individually.

Confirm rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, and mounting arrangement before ordering. Check that the blower wheel is clean, balanced, and correctly positioned on the shaft during reassembly.
