Nidec/Emerson Blower Motor 3/4 HP 1075 RPM 115V

The Nidec/Emerson EL3589 is a 3/4 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 115 volt PSC direct-drive blower motor for larger residential air handlers, furnaces, and light commercial fan coil applications.

Selecting a 3/4 horsepower blower motor on 115 volts places the motor toward the upper end of what a standard 115 volt blower circuit will comfortably support. Confirm conductor size, overcurrent protection, and terminal ratings against the motor nameplate before energising, and measure running current after installation rather than relying on nameplate figures alone.

The motor operates with a permanently connected run capacitor sized to its rating. Capacitor value must match specification; substituting an available capacitor of different microfarad rating changes torque and current and shortens winding life.

Multiple speed taps allow independent heating and cooling airflow selection.

Verify horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, and mounting method against the motor being replaced. Where the failed motor showed signs of overheating such as discoloured windings or a melted lead, investigate airflow restriction before fitting the replacement. Restricted return air is the single most common underlying cause of repeat blower motor failure in equipment of this size.
