Nidec/Emerson Blower Motor 3/4 HP 1075 RPM 115V

The Nidec/Emerson 8904 is a 3/4 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 115 volt PSC blower motor for direct-drive indoor blower applications in residential and light commercial air handling equipment.

Motors at this output are used where duct systems impose higher static pressure or where equipment capacity requires airflow beyond the reach of a 1/2 horsepower blower. In practice, a significant share of 3/4 horsepower blower motor failures trace back to duct restriction rather than motor defect: closed registers, undersized returns, collapsed flexible duct, or filters left in place beyond their service interval all force the blower to work against pressure it was not selected for.

The motor requires a run capacitor permanently connected in the auxiliary winding. Capacitor value must match the motor specification.

Multiple speed taps allow airflow to be configured independently for heating and cooling operation, with unused leads capped individually.

Before ordering, verify horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, and mounting arrangement. After installation, measure total external static pressure across the air handler. If it exceeds the equipment rating, correcting the duct restriction is the only way to prevent the replacement motor from repeating the original failure.
