Nidec/Emerson Blower Motor 3/4 HP 1075 RPM 115V

The Nidec/Emerson 5470 is a 3/4 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 115 volt PSC direct-drive blower motor for larger residential and light commercial indoor blower assemblies.

Three quarter horsepower is specified where the blower must overcome higher duct static pressure or deliver airflow for four to five ton equipment. At 115 volts a 3/4 horsepower motor draws roughly twice the current of the equivalent 230 volt unit, so branch circuit capacity and existing wire gauge should be confirmed rather than assumed, particularly in older installations or where the original motor was a smaller size.

The motor is a permanent split capacitor design and requires a correctly rated run capacitor in the auxiliary winding circuit. Because capacitor microfarad requirements rise with motor size, the capacitor supplied with a smaller failed motor is unlikely to be correct for this one.

Multiple speed taps allow heating and cooling airflow to be set separately at commissioning.

Verify horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, and mounting arrangement against the motor being replaced. Larger frame motors need adequate clearance in the blower compartment, and belly band position must place the shaft correctly in the wheel hub so the wheel remains centred in the housing inlet.
