Nidec/Emerson Blower Motor 1/3 HP 1075 RPM 230 3SPD

The Nidec/Emerson EL3586 is a 1/3 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 230 volt three-speed PSC blower motor for direct-drive indoor blower service.

The three-speed winding provides the airflow selection flexibility required in retrofit work, where the replacement motor must reproduce the airflow characteristics of an OEM motor whose original tap assignments are frequently undocumented. The practical method is to record the speed lead connections at the equipment control board before removing the failed motor, then reproduce the same relationships with the new motor's taps and verify the resulting airflow by measuring temperature rise in heating and static pressure in cooling.

At 230 volts the motor draws roughly half the current of the 115 volt equivalent for the same shaft output, which is why 230 volt blowers are common in equipment that already has a 230 volt supply for compressor or electric heat.

A permanently connected run capacitor of the specified microfarad value is required.

Confirm rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, and mounting method before ordering. Cap unused speed leads individually and secure all leads clear of the blower wheel, since a lead drawn into a rotating wheel will short to the housing and can damage the control board.
