Nidec/Emerson Blower Motor 1 HP 1075 RPM 230V 3-Speed

The Nidec/Emerson 8907 is a 1 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 230 volt three-speed PSC blower motor for direct-drive indoor blower service in large air handlers, furnaces, and light commercial packaged units.

Three discrete speed taps give the installer a practical means of matching the motor to the equipment's heating and cooling airflow requirements. In a typical configuration the highest tap serves cooling, where airflow of roughly 400 CFM per ton is required for correct evaporator performance, and a lower tap serves heating, where lower airflow produces a higher supply temperature. Selecting taps correctly is a commissioning step, not a formality: excessive cooling airflow carries condensate off the evaporator into the duct, while insufficient airflow drives suction pressure and coil temperature down toward freezing.

The motor operates with a permanently connected run capacitor matched to its rating.

Confirm voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, and mounting method against the motor being replaced. Cap unused speed leads individually.

Verify running amp draw against nameplate after installation and measure total external static pressure. High static pressure in a system of this capacity will limit airflow regardless of which tap is selected and will shorten the life of the replacement motor.
