Microflex MFXMK-296-XL Mircoflex MidKnight Powder Free Nitrile Exam Gloves

The Microflex MFXMK-296-XL is a MidKnight powder free nitrile exam glove, X-Large, black, fully textured, 100 gloves per box, 10 boxes per case.

The exam glove designation is worth understanding because it is a regulatory classification rather than a description of quality.

Examination gloves are regulated as medical devices and are tested to defined standards for barrier integrity — pinhole rates, tensile strength, and elongation. That testing is why an exam-grade glove can be relied upon as a barrier. Industrial-grade gloves are not held to the same testing, which does not make them bad; it makes them unverified for that purpose.

The consequence is that exam grade is a meaningful thing to specify wherever the barrier actually matters — bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, or anything where a pinhole is a problem rather than an inconvenience.

Nitrile means no latex allergy and resistance to oils, fuels, and many solvents that degrade latex on contact.

Black masks stains, and more usefully makes a tear instantly visible against the skin. The cost is that it hides contamination, which is why food handling tends toward lighter colours.

Fully textured means texture across the whole glove, displacing liquid film to maintain grip when wet — the tyre-tread principle.

Applications include automotive, industrial, laboratory, healthcare, and first response.
