The slip-on cuff deserves attention specifically on an insulated glove, because cold-weather gloves face a problem the unlined ones do not: they come off constantly.

That is not carelessness. Cold-weather work involves tasks an insulated hand cannot do — starting a small fastener, operating a phone, feeling for a clip. The glove comes off, the task gets done, the glove goes back on, and that cycle repeats dozens of times a shift. A glove with a strap to fasten does not survive that cycle; it ends up in a pocket after the third removal, and then the hands are bare in the cold for the rest of the day.
