MCR Safety MCR983M Mechanics Gloves Synthetic Black/Orange Medium Slip-On - Open

The MCR Safety MCR983M is a pair of mechanics gloves, synthetic, medium, black and orange, slip-on open cuff, Thinsulate lining, embossed finish, black polymer, nylon cuff.

The slip-on cuff deserves attention specifically on an insulated glove, because cold-weather gloves face a problem the unlined ones do not: they come off constantly.

That is not carelessness. Cold-weather work involves tasks an insulated hand cannot do — starting a small fastener, operating a phone, feeling for a clip. The glove comes off, the task gets done, the glove goes back on, and that cycle repeats dozens of times a shift. A glove with a strap to fasten does not survive that cycle; it ends up in a pocket after the third removal, and then the hands are bare in the cold for the rest of the day.

A slip-on with a nylon cuff goes on in one motion. That is what determines whether the glove is actually worn.

Thinsulate is the lining, and its point is warmth per unit of thickness — microfibres trap more air in less bulk than conventional insulation, so the hand stays warm and still functions.

The embossed finish grips by texture rather than a thick coating, keeping flexibility.

Sizing note: insulated gloves want a slightly looser fit. Tight compresses the lining and restricts circulation.

Applications include cold-weather mechanical work and outdoor maintenance.
