Master Lock MLS720DPF Padlock Single hinge high security 6-1/4" Hardened steel

The Master Lock MLS720DPF is a single hinge high security padlock, 6-1/4 inch, maximum shackle diameter 7/16 inch, hardened steel.

This is a hasp rather than a conventional padlock, and the distinction explains everything about it.

A padlock is only as good as what it hangs from, and that is the weak point in most installations. A hardened lock on a sheet-steel hasp with exposed screws is defeated by a screwdriver, and everyone attacking a door knows to look at the hasp rather than the lock. A high security hasp is built to be the strong part: hardened steel, a hinge that resists prying, and geometry that shields the padlock's shackle so bolt cutters cannot reach it.

That shielding is the real function. Most padlocks are cut, not picked, and a shackle that cannot be got at with cutters is a shackle that has to be attacked some other way.

The 7/16 inch maximum shackle diameter is the fitment specification — it determines which padlocks will physically pass through. Verify against the lock you intend to use.

At 6-1/4 inches this is substantial hardware for doors, containers, and gates.

The single hinge design is the mounting arrangement.

Note that installation determines performance. A hardened hasp fixed with wood screws into a soft frame protects nothing.

Applications include containers, warehouses, gates, and yards.
