Eagle EAGUI10FS Safety Type 1 Safety Can Safety oily waste cans 1 gallon

The Eagle EAGUI10FS is a Type 1 safety can in metal, red, with a 1 gallon capacity, supplied with a funnel.

A Type 1 safety can has a single opening that serves as both fill and pour point, which is what distinguishes it from a Type 2 can with separate fill and pour spouts. Type 1 is the simpler and more common configuration, and the funnel supplied here is what makes pouring into a target controllable.

The engineering inside a safety can is what separates it from a fuel jug, and every element addresses a specific failure. The spring-loaded cap closes automatically, so the can is sealed by default. It also acts as a pressure relief: fuel vapour expands with temperature, and a sealed rigid container will eventually rupture or leak — the cap vents before that happens. Inside the spout sits a flame arrester, a fine mesh screen that absorbs heat from an external flame fast enough to stop it propagating into the vapour space. That mesh is the difference between a spilled-fuel fire and an exploding container.

The red colour follows the widely used industry convention for gasoline. Colour coding is how a technician identifies contents at a glance in a shop holding several fuels.

At 1 gallon this is a small can for topping up equipment rather than bulk transfer.

Applications include fleet and equipment fuelling, small engines, generators, and general maintenance.

Note: source lists this as an oily waste can; the specification described is a Type 1 safety can.
