The Master Lock MLS377KA is a universal trailer coupler lock, keyed alike, for 1-7/8 inch and 2 inch couplers, nickel-plated zinc.

A coupler lock addresses a theft that takes about fifteen seconds. An unattended trailer with an open coupler can be backed onto by anybody with a ball hitch and driven away — no tools, no forcing, no noise. Hitch theft is common precisely because it requires nothing.

A coupler lock fills the coupler so a ball cannot enter it. That is the whole mechanism, and it works because there is no way to tow a trailer whose coupler is occupied.

The 1-7/8 and 2 inch fitment covers the two common ball sizes on light and medium trailers, which is what makes it universal within that range. Larger couplers need a larger lock — confirm the size before ordering.
