The Mars M10583 is a 1/4 horsepower furnace blower motor.

Bearing type affects both installation options and service life, and it is a specification worth noting.

Sleeve bearings are the common arrangement in residential blower motors. They are quiet, inexpensive, and adequate for the loads involved, but they are sensitive to mounting orientation and require the motor to be installed within the range of positions the manufacturer permits. Sleeve bearing motors also depend on their oil, and older motors with oiling ports benefit from periodic lubrication where the equipment permits access.
