The Magnaflux MGX01-5190-78 is SKL-WP2 penetrant, water washable Type 2, 16 oz aerosol can, red and violet, oily, mild odour, density 0.87 g/cc / 7.30 lb/gal.

This is the aerosol of the same water washable Type 2 penetrant supplied in 5 gallon pails elsewhere in this range, and the format difference is the buying decision.

A pail feeds a dip tank: parts go in, penetrant coats them, the operation runs at volume. An aerosol goes to the work — a weld on a structure, a component on a machine, a repair in the field. Same chemistry, entirely different workflow.

Water washable means the excess is removed with a plain water rinse. That is faster than solvent wiping and better suited to volume, and it does require a water supply — which is why solvent removable products exist for field work with neither water nor drainage.

Type 2 means visible dye rather than fluorescent: red indication against white developer, read in ordinary light. Type 1 is fluorescent, needs UV and a darkened area, and is more sensitive.

The absolute limitation: penetrant only finds flaws open to the surface. Anything subsurface is invisible to it.

Note a data issue carried across this range: "SAE Sensitivity: > 200°F" is not a sensitivity figure — sensitivity is not measured in degrees. Verify what that value actually represents.
