The Loctite LOC234227 is Loctite Moly Paste, 8 oz.

Molybdenum disulfide works on a genuinely elegant principle: its crystal structure is made of layers that slide over one another with almost no resistance. That gives lubrication from a solid — no oil required.

Moly paste is where that property is applied to extreme pressure. Under very high contact loads, an oil or grease film is squeezed out of the interface entirely and the surfaces meet. That is when scuffing, galling, and seizure happen. Moly's solid layers stay put under pressure that would displace any fluid, so lubrication survives where a liquid cannot.

The applications follow directly: press fits, splines, gears, cams, slow-moving heavily loaded joints, and assembly of components that will be run in. It is also a standard assembly lubricant on engine bearings and camshafts, because the first few seconds of running are before oil pressure exists.

The distinction against anti-seize is worth making. Anti-seize prevents threads from welding to each other during disassembly years later. Moly paste lubricates a loaded moving interface. They look similar and they are not interchangeable.

Note that moly paste on threaded fasteners is a lubricant, and lubricated threads reach a given tension at far lower torque than dry ones.
