The Loctite LOC234192 is an LB 8008 C5-A anti-seize lubricant, 1 oz tube, 48 per box.

The C5-A designation is a well-established anti-seize grade and it is worth confirming against Loctite's current data sheet for temperature range and metallurgical compatibility, since grade is the whole specification on an anti-seize.

What anti-seize does is prevent galling. When threaded metal parts are torqued together, the microscopic high points on the thread flanks are pressed hard enough to cold-weld to each other. Once that starts, further turning tears metal instead of sliding, which generates heat, which welds more — and the fastener seizes solid mid-thread. It does not come out. It shears.

Stainless steel is notoriously prone to it, which is why stainless fasteners have a reputation carbon steel does not.

The 1 oz tube at 48 per box is an unusual and useful format. Small tubes suit kits, service vans, and issuing to individuals — anti-seize in a large can on a shelf never reaches the person who needs a smear of it in the field.
