The Loctite LOC1167237 is a food grade anti-seize lubricant, metal-free, 8 oz brush top.

Metal-free is the specification and it is the whole reason this product exists as a separate line. Conventional anti-seize suspends metal particles — copper, aluminium, nickel, graphite — in grease, and those particles are what keep threads from galling at temperature. They are also what makes conventional anti-seize unacceptable anywhere near food, beverage, or pharmaceutical production. Metal contamination in a product stream is a recall.

A food grade anti-seize achieves the same anti-galling function without metals, which means incidental contact with product is tolerable within the terms of its registration.

The distinction that matters when selling this: food grade is not a description, it is a registration. Verify the specific NSF category and registration number against your customer's requirement rather than treating "food grade" as a single thing — the categories differ by whether incidental contact is permitted.

The brush top is a practical feature. Anti-seize is applied to threads, and a brush in the lid means it is applied properly rather than smeared with whatever is to hand.

One point that belongs on every anti-seize: it lubricates, which changes the torque-tension relationship. Torquing a lubricated fastener to a dry specification over-tensions it and can snap it. Use the lubricated torque figure.
