JET JET206121 20 2 Ton 20' Lift and Overload Protection

The JET JET206121 is an L100-200WO-20 lever hoist, 2 ton capacity, 20 foot lift, with overload protection.

The overload protection is the specification that matters and it is worth understanding what it actually does. A lever hoist gives enormous mechanical advantage — that is the point — which means an operator can generate far more force than the hoist, the rigging, or the load is rated for, without feeling that they are doing so. The feedback that would tell a person to stop simply is not there.

Overload protection interrupts that. The mechanism slips or disengages at a defined load above rating, so the operator physically cannot pull past it. That converts a potential rigging failure into a hoist that stops working.

That matters because the failure being prevented is a dropped load, and dropped loads kill people.

A lever hoist, unlike a chain hoist, is operated by a hand lever rather than a hand chain, which lets it be used in any orientation — horizontally to pull, at an angle to tension, or vertically to lift. That versatility is why they live on rigging jobs.

The 20 foot lift is the chain length.

Applications include rigging, construction, plant maintenance, and equipment installation.

Inspect the hoist, chain, and hooks before every use and never exceed the rating.
