Jackson Safety JKS36149 Welding Blanket Wilson 150 ft 0.02 Inch Fiberglass

The Jackson Safety JKS36149 is a Wilson welding blanket in fiberglass with an acrylic coating, red, 0.02 inch thick.

The source specifications for this row are internally inconsistent and worth resolving before listing: width is stated as 150 ft, frame length as 60 inch, and frame width as 50 yd. Read together, those most likely describe a roll 60 inches wide by 50 yards long — and 50 yards is 150 feet, which is the same number appearing twice under different labels. This is bulk roll goods rather than a finished blanket.

That distinction matters to the buyer. A roll is cut to fit the job; a finished blanket is a defined size with hemmed edges and grommets.

What a welding blanket does is contain sparks, spatter, and slag. Hot metal from cutting and grinding travels much further than people expect and it will find combustible material — which is why welding blankets are a fire prevention control, not a nicety.

Fiberglass is the base fabric. The acrylic coating is what distinguishes this from uncoated: coating adds spark resistance and reduces the loose fibre shedding that makes bare fiberglass unpleasant to handle.

At 0.02 inch this is a light blanket — vertical protection and spark containment rather than a heavy horizontal duty.
