DiversiTech Wire Terminal Spr. Spade 16-14 In

The DiversiTech 6239LX is an insulated spring spade terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, combining the quick service access of an open spade with a retaining feature that resists accidental release.

A conventional spade or fork terminal slides out freely if the screw loosens. A spring spade adds formed tangs or a locking profile that grips beneath the screw head, so the terminal remains captured under normal vibration and handling even before the screw is fully tightened. That behaviour addresses the principal weakness of open terminals while preserving their main advantage: the screw need only be loosened, not removed, to land or lift a conductor.

The practical benefit shows in equipment that vibrates continuously, such as air handlers, condensing units, and rooftop packages, where connections are subject to years of mechanical cycling. It also helps during installation, since the terminal holds position while the screw is driven rather than dropping away.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket, guarding against incidental contact and providing limited strain relief. Blue identifies the 16-14 gauge range.

Even with the retaining feature, ring terminals remain the correct choice for equipment grounding conductors.

Applications include terminal strip and control board landings, equipment interface wiring, component connections, and general HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical installation. Crimp with a ratcheting tool and confirm with a pull test.
