The DiversiTech 4252CX is a ring terminal sized for 12 to 10 gauge conductors, providing a secure crimped connection to a screw or stud terminal.

Ring terminals differ from fork and spade terminals in one important respect: the ring is closed, so the terminal cannot be pulled off a stud without removing the fastener entirely. This makes ring terminals the correct choice for connections that must not loosen under vibration, for grounding conductors, and for any termination where an accidental disconnection would be hazardous or would leave a circuit in an unsafe state.

That security is why ring terminals are standard on equipment grounding connections. A ground conductor that works loose provides no protection and gives no indication of the fault until someone contacts an energized enclosure.

The 12-10 gauge range suits branch circuit and equipment power wiring, including condensing unit connections, disconnect terminations, motor leads, and panel grounding.

Crimp quality determines the connection's performance. A properly compressed crimp produces a cold weld between the barrel and the conductor strands, mechanically strong and electrically equivalent to continuous conductor. An inadequate crimp made with pliers leaves a high resistance joint that heats under load, oxidizes progressively, and fails over time. Heavier conductor sizes require a crimp tool with sufficient mechanical advantage.

Applications include equipment grounding, motor and compressor terminations, disconnect and panel connections, and general HVAC and electrical installation. Match the terminal to both conductor gauge and stud size, use the correct crimp tool, and verify the crimp with a pull test.
