The DiversiTech 60254LX is a fork terminal sized for 12 to 10 gauge conductors, providing a crimped connection to a screw terminal without full removal of the fastener.

The open fork is the practical distinction from a ring terminal. Because the fork slides in from the side, the terminal screw needs only to be loosened rather than removed to land or remove the conductor. On terminal strips with many closely spaced screws, or in a crowded panel where a removed screw is likely to be dropped and lost, that saves meaningful time.

The corresponding trade-off is retention. A fork terminal can slip out if the screw loosens, which is why fork terminals should not be used for equipment grounding conductors or for any connection where an unnoticed disconnection would create a hazard. Those applications call for ring terminals.

The 12-10 gauge range suits branch circuit and equipment power wiring, including equipment connections, disconnect terminations, and terminal block landings.

Crimp quality governs performance.
