The DiversiTech 6235LX is an insulated slip-on female quick disconnect terminal for 22 to 18 gauge conductors, sized for a .250 inch tab and supplied in a 50 piece pack.

The 22-18 gauge range covers fine control conductors: thermostat wiring, sensor leads, control board connections, relay and pilot circuits, and low current signal wiring. Under the standard colour convention this range is identified by a red sleeve, distinguishing it at a glance from the blue 16-14 and yellow 12-10 ranges.

Pairing a fine gauge conductor with a .250 inch tab is a specific and useful combination. Many components, particularly contactors, relays, and switches, present a full size .250 inch tab regardless of the current their control circuit actually carries. Using a terminal correctly sized to the small conductor while still fitting the large tab produces a proper crimp on the conductor and proper contact pressure on the tab, whereas forcing an oversized terminal onto fine wire yields a crimp that pulls apart.

Crimp quality is critical at these conductor sizes, where a poorly compressed barrel may hold under a casual tug yet release under vibration. Use a ratcheting crimp tool with the correct insulated die and confirm every crimp with a pull test.
