DiversiTech Wire Terminal Slip-On F 16-14 Non

The DiversiTech 6214CX is a non-insulated slip-on female quick disconnect terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, providing a straight push-on connection to a matching male tab.

Female disconnects are the standard separable connection throughout HVAC and refrigeration equipment. They land on contactor terminals, capacitor studs, limit switches, transformer tabs, and motor leads, allowing a component to be replaced by pulling connections rather than cutting and splicing conductors. The connection relies on spring pressure from the terminal's formed contact, and that spring pressure is what determines whether the joint stays cool over years of service.

The uninsulated construction suits high temperature areas where a plastic sleeve would harden and crack, and allows heat shrink to be applied at the technician's discretion. It requires corresponding care with clearance and routing, since the crimp barrel is live in an energised circuit.

The 16-14 gauge range covers control circuits, fan leads, capacitor wiring, and light power connections.

Tab width matters more than most other fitment details. Standard .187 and .250 inch widths are visually similar, and an undersized female terminal on an oversized tab, or the reverse, makes a loose connection that heats under load. That heat relaxes the terminal's spring temper, contact pressure falls further, and the joint deteriorates progressively. Burned contactor and capacitor terminals commonly originate here.
