The DiversiTech 6281LX is an insulated slip-on female quick disconnect terminal for 16 to 14 gauge conductors, sized for a .187 inch tab and supplied in a 50 piece pack.

The .187 inch tab is the smaller of the two widely used quick disconnect sizes and appears throughout HVAC and refrigeration equipment at control boards, relays, limit and pressure switches, small transformers, defrost controls, and sensor connections. It is frequently confused with the .250 inch size, and that confusion is a recurring source of service problems: a .250 inch female terminal pushed onto a .187 inch tab makes light, unreliable contact, while a .187 inch terminal forced onto a .250 inch tab is splayed permanently and never regains proper spring pressure.

Either mismatch produces a loose connection. Under current, a loose joint heats, the heat relaxes the terminal's spring temper, contact pressure falls further, and the connection degrades progressively toward an open or a burned terminal.

The insulating sleeve covers the crimp barrel and part of the conductor jacket, reducing short risk in a crowded cabinet and providing limited strain relief. Blue identifies the 16-14 gauge range.

Applications include control board and relay connections, limit and pressure switch wiring, defrost and timer controls, small transformer taps, and general low voltage service work in HVAC, refrigeration, and appliance equipment. Crimp with a ratcheting tool and pull test each connection.
